The Checkered Lobster started with traps, a small boat, and a mark we drew for the fun of it. Everything we make comes out of that same habit: keep it simple, make it well, and make it something you'll actually reach for on a Saturday morning.

Where the checkered lobster was first drawn

The Checkered Lobster was born at Sun Hee Studios, where the coastal prints first started. Those ideas naturally found their way onto apparel — easy pieces inspired by life near the water. Prints, cards, and originals still live over at the studio.
